More than 104 million viewers tune in each year to the Professional Bull Riders on Versus, FOX, CBS, NBC and on a host of foreign networks across the globe. With over 500 hours of prime time programming annually, PBR ranks among the most prolific sports on air. This year’s Weatherford Battle of the Bulls will benefit recently injured, Professional Bull Rider, McKennon Wimberley, of neighboring Cool, Texas. Wimberly suffered a broken jaw, broken shoulder and head injuries while competing as one of the Top 10 Professional Bull Riders of 2011. He was in intensive care for several weeks, but is home now and undergoing therapy for speech problems. McKennon will probably ride bulls again, but he has exorbitant medical expenses. The event staff of the Weatherford Battle of the Bulls is honored to dedicate their time, resources and expertise to help McKennon and his family. Their goal is to raise $30,000 for McKennon's ongoing medical expenses.
In the past six years, this event has raised upward of $30,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, making the Weatherford PBR, Relay for Life’s largest local contributor. So come on down and help us make this the best turn out ever!
